About Matthew

Born on December 5, 1977, just outside Chicago and raised in metro Detroit, Matthew Stephen Kent has a lifelong passion for storytelling, horror, and heavy metal. He discovered his love for writing horror stories, directing films, and playing heavy metal guitar while in high school. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Matthew was an avid athlete, excelling in baseball, football, and basketball.

A person who never backs down from a challenge, Matthew followed in the footsteps of several family members to become involved in local GOP politics. He takes pride in his work, particularly in advocating for economic improvements that would enable individuals with disabilities, like himself, to live out their dreams.

Matthew’s interest in acting sparked when he performed as a team haunt actor in Halloween haunted attractions. This experience ignited his passion for villainous roles, which he has since embraced in various local independent film and TV productions. His goals now extend beyond acting—he envisions creating his own horror film franchise, recording a classic heavy metal album, and publishing horror novels.

Currently, Matthew is enrolled full-time at Macomb Community College, where he is pursuing studies in Film/TV production and working towards a baseball scholarship to continue his education at a four-year university. Alongside his academic and artistic pursuits, he is building a career in real estate.

As a dedicated Born Again Christian, Matthew aspires to take on roles that reflect his love of God and his country, showing that age is no barrier to achieving one’s dreams.
